<description><![CDATA[<div style='text-align:center'>Proposed dates for the next BIAMS residential conference are:<br /><br /> Wed 7-Fri 9 Sept 2011 in Wrexham.</div><br /><strong class='bbcode bold'><div style='text-align:center'>"Identity in Christ? - Ethnically Distinct Churches: Integration, Independence, Isolation."</div></strong><br /><br /><ul class='bbcode'><li class='bbcode'>Urban Churches in UK revived by influx of African worshippers</li></ul> <br /><ul class='bbcode'><li class='bbcode'>Pakistani Christians cold-shouldered by mainstream Churches.</li></ul><br /><ul class='bbcode'><li class='bbcode'>Polish Catholics encouraged to form Polish Speaking communities separate from weak British and Irish dioceses</li></ul><br /><ul class='bbcode'><li class='bbcode'>Chinese Pentecostalists creating a place to feel at home.</li></ul><br /><br />The realities of globalisation, migration and post-colonialism mean that the Churches experience within and between themselves a series of relationships between cultural, linguistic and ethnic identities.<br /><br />The Conference seeks to address the questions that arise because of these tensions and possibilities.<br /><br />We hope to offer theological reflection on the prevailing issues; sociological analysis of the realities; missiological insight into the history and practice of diaspora communities; and discussion of probable future trajectories.<br /><br />An important aspect of the Conference will be to hear the stories from pertinent case studies.<br /><br />Further information to follow....]]></description>
